Here comes some fun for everyone! Based on a father and son team (Layce Baker, Jr. and Layce Baker III), Black Diamond Band produces an engaging dance-based show of Motown, Blues, 70's Old School Funk, and Pop standards. A touch of jazz and country music rounds out the format.
Black Diamond performs as a 3-5 piece band and features female vocalists if requested. The band also provides a softer volume show tailored to the needs of restaurants or small venues.
Guitarist and vocalist Layce Baker has traveled the world backing major artists including Johnnie Taylor. He was awarded the 2004 California Bay Area "Blues Band of the Year" and the 2005 Central California Valley "Artist of the Year" awards. Layce performed alongside Ike Turner, Taj Mahal, War, and Erma Thomas in 2006 on the legendary Blues Cruise of Switzerland.
Layce Baker III on keyboards is fast becoming an equally accomplished musician in his own right. Layce was the youngest musician to be awarded "2011New Artist of the Year" from the West Coast Music Hall of Fame. Noted Chicago and Oklahoma City bassist Terri Hoersch adds her groove-based expertise to the show. A long time veteran of touring and high energy dance shows, Terri can lay down everything from funk to traditional country.
The beat goes on and on!
